Prompt: Pavel Chekov in the original timeline was born in 2245. The man known as Pavel Chekov in the reboot timeline was born in 2241. They are not the same person.
Reboot!Pavel was conceived by circumstances brought about inadvertently by Nero - the butterfly effect.
Alexei Chekov, Pavel's younger and less well known brother, has grown up always feeling out of sync, as if his older brother was somehow living the life he should have had.
This is a beautiful character study using themes from The Master and Margarita. Chekov in loosing his name and his fate had been cast out of the light.
